Through the Bible with My Child

Through the Bible with My Child helps your child know the Bible. It is the Bible Plan I developed to teach my children the Bible at home during first through fourth grade. Each plan year fits within an academic year (172 days). I released the First Edition in 2008 and I plan to release a Second Edition soon.

Each 30-minute day includes a Bible reading (about one chapter), review questions, writing, and memorizing. Testing periodically replaces memorizing. The writing sections include:

  • Discoveries — interpretations about God and Man derived from the reading
  • Commands — God’s commands derived from the reading
  • Lists — Classic Bible lists derived from the reading, like the days of Creation, the Tribes of Israel, the Ten Commandments, etc.
  • Words/Phrases — Definitions of difficult words or phrases from the reading
  • Maps — Various unmarked Biblical maps to annotate

The Second Edition will include additional review questions, test answer keys, map references within the daily plan, map answer keys, and a plan for reading the Psalms in three summers.
